Hollywood icon Tom Selleck has built a legendary career starring in hits like Magnum, P.I., Quigley Down Under, and Jesse Stone. Despite his fame and accolades, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe, Selleck has always prioritized his family over Hollywood.
Tom is married to Jillie Mack and is the proud father of two children, Kevin Selleck and Hannah Selleck. Kevin, born in 1966, is from Tom’s first marriage to Jacqueline Ray, though Tom adopted him in 1987. After his divorce from Jacqueline, Tom married Jillie the same year and welcomed their daughter Hannah in 1988.
Though he has occasionally shared glimpses of his family life at red carpet events, Tom is famously private and wanted his kids to grow up in a normal environment. At the height of his fame, he even quit Magnum P.I. to focus on his family. “I quit Magnum, not because I didn’t like it or I was tired of it. I was tired from it. And I wanted a three-dimensional life because I didn’t have one,” he told People in 2020.
The actor and his wife now live on a rural Ventura, California ranch with over 1,500 avocado trees. “I do grunt work and I make the rounds. I like watching things grow. It’s a retreat,” Tom said.
Though he returned to acting and continues to star in projects like Blue Bloods, Selleck has remained committed to keeping his family first. “I’ve always treasured the balance between work and time with my family. It’s always about them,” he said.
Jillie held Hannah’s hand as Tom followed the trio into the London airport in 1995.
