Spencer Lofranco, the Canadian actor known for his leading roles in Jamesy Boy and Gotti, has died at the age of 33. Authorities in British Columbia, Canada, are investigating his death, though the cause has not been confirmed, according to TMZ.
Lofranco’s brother, Santino Lofranco, confirmed the news in an emotional Instagram tribute on Thursday. “To the legend @roccowinning. My brother. You lived a life only some could dream of… I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025,” he wrote.
Spencer’s final Instagram post, shared on Nov. 11, featured a black-and-white selfie with a caption suggesting he was having a face tattoo removed.
Lofranco appeared in seven films, starting with the 2013 romantic comedy At Middleton, starring Andy Garcia and the Farmiga sisters. He gained attention for his role as ex-convict James Burns in the 2014 biopic Jamesy Boy, alongside Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames, and James Woods.
In 2018, he starred as John Gotti Jr. in Kevin Connolly’s Gotti, with John Travolta in the title role and Travolta’s late wife, Kelly Preston, as Victoria Gotti. His other credits include Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken (2014), Dixieland (2015), King Cobra (2016), and the short film Home (2015).
In a 2014 Interview magazine feature, Lofranco said he fell in love with performing thanks to his mother, a dancer, opera singer, and actor. “My dad didn’t want me to be an actor; he wanted me to be a hockey player and become a lawyer. That didn’t happen,” he said. He also described working with Jolie as a dream and expressed his desire to pursue “real-life, candid films” with careful role choices, citing Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, and River Phoenix as inspirations.
