He played this from 2001 until 2005 on CBS and won many fans for his portrayal.

He then landed the role in the NCIS New Orleans spin-off in 2014 after starring in a backdoor pilot episode.

Other roles in his career so far have also included films like American Beauty and The Informant!

Bakula has even appeared in television series like Desperate Housewives, Looking and Chuck.

Aside from his work, Bakula is married to actress Chelsea Field after the pair tied the knot in 1999.

Together they have two children as well as the two Bakula has from his previous marriage to Krista Neumann.

The star has opened up in the past about how important it is for him to spend as much time with family as he can.

Speaking to People magazine back in 2015, he revealed how he flies home every weekend to spend time with his wife and children.

He said: “It takes energy and focus. We work hard to stay present in the relationship.

“Chelsea is amazingly present and has taught me a lot about relationships and spirituality.

“I feel incredibly lucky to have the career and family I do.”
