‘NCIS’ star Wilmer Valderrama, Has Sparked Strong Reactions With News That He May “Finally Announce”

Wilmer Valderrama is no longer just Special Agent Nick Torres on NCIS. He’s now a shareholder in iHeartMedia’s “My Cultura” podcast, and fans are overjoyed.

On September 22, the NCIS star, who has been on the CBS cr1me drama for the past eight years, announced the news on Instagram. The “My Cultura” podcast (Spanish for “my culture”) prioritizes amplifying Latinx stories, voices, and content creators in English, Spanish, and Spanglish.

The former That 70s Show star wrote in his caption that he was “proud to finally announce” the exciting news, and naturally, many people shared their excitement.

NCIS fans flocked to the comments section to express their delight for the 42-year-old actor.

“Thank you for being a voice that needs to be heard, @wilmervalderrama,” one person said. “Excited for what we’re about to build,” said another. “Sir, congratulations. I’m glad to see all of your hard work paying off, “another fan stated.

On September 27, Wilmer shared photos of his conversation with Conal Byrne, CEO of the iHeart Podcast Network, in which he discussed the business move in greater detail. He stated that the acquisition heralded a new era in storytelling. He wrote in the caption, “It represents a new frontier for Audio Narrative as well as a significant platform for our culture and many other cultures to create and unite our stories! Wait until you see what we have in store for you.”

Wilmer, who founded the WV Entertainment media company that is acquiring a stake in the podcast, told Deadline in an exclusive statement that the move into audio is part of his push for greater representation in media. The media company currently produces TV and film programming in both Spanish and English in order to reach both the Latin and American markets.

Wilmer stated to Deadline, “Not only does representation influence how others perceive us, but it also influences how we perceive ourselves. It is critical that all aspects of our media include narratives that elevate Latino and Hispanic voices.”

In addition to being a shareholder, Wilmer will executive produce and star in Latinx-focused podcasts, according to the outlet. So, while he is best known for his role as a leading man on NCIS, it appears that he will be appearing in a lot more projects in the coming months.
