NCIS star Pauley Perrette makes surprise confession about retirement: ‘One good thing’

NCIS fan-favourite Pauley Perrette has been enjoying retirement of late after stepping down from acting earlier this year. Now, the star has opened up on the ‘one thing’ the new venture has helped with.
Abby Sciuto (played by Pauley Perrette) became a favourite among CBS viewers and the NCIS fandom from day one when she was first introduced as a Forensic Scientist working alongside the Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team. And while the actor hasn’t been seen on the hit cr1me drama since her exit in 2018, fans of the show have been keeping up to date with what the 51-year-old has been up to since, including confirmation of her suprise retirement earlier this year.

Perrette took to Twitter earlier this year to announce that she had originally stepped down from acting back in 2018.

“Actually I retired after NCIS but BROKE was important, beautiful,” she explained.

Perrette added: “I did my last dance & am proud of it! Everyone that knows me knew I was retiring right after. I’m proud of my work. I love you guys! I AM FREE!!! (To be the tiny little simple human I am!) #Plants #RescuePets #Books.”

The former NCIS star took up her final acting role in CBS sitcom Broke in 2020, starring alongside Jane the Virgin’s Jaime Camil and comedian Natasha Leggero.

However, sadly for Perrette and the rest of the cast and crew, Broke was cancelled by the US network after just one season.

Ever since, with the c0ronav1rus pand3mic prompting a global lockdown, Perrette has had time to focus on her hobbies and life off-screen.

And it seems to be something the former actor has relished, often updating her social media followers with her day to day activities.

Now, she’s shared an insight into one perk quitting acting has offered to her in a series of candid posts.

Taking to her Twitter, Perrette opened up about how lockdown and retirement has helped with her haircare regime.

Alongside a photo of herself, Perrette penned to her 722.3k followers: “One think a lockdown and retirement has been good for… my hair. [smiley face emoji].”

“It’s also purple on top but you can’t see it in my dark house.”

Perrette didn’t stop there as she shared a second snap showing off her new look.

“And here is a better shot of my purple hair!!! (Making faces with #RescueDog Rosie,” she shared.

It didn’t take long for hundreds of her followers to weigh with compliments for the NCIS star’s lockdown look.

One replied: “I think all your work in the garden has been helpful too. You look great!”

“Looking great as always,” penned a second while a third weighed in: “Pauley, you and your hair look fantastic. It’s great to see you enjoying yourself. Retirement can be terrific especially if you’re young enough to enjoy it.”

However, others were more concerned were seeing if there was any chance Perrette could be returning to NCIS in the near-future.

“Please come back to NCIS, we miss you Abby [love heart emoji],” tweeted one fan.

A second added: “DEF miss seein u bring Abby to life! My 15yr old daughter & have been binge watched from the beginning (always been fans), on season 7.” (sic)

While a third commented: “Woohoo. NCIS hasn’t been the same since you left.”
