‘NCIS Los Angeles’ star Daniela Ruah addresses her absence as fans lament the loss of Kensi Blye

NCIS LA fans were disappointed to find Daniela Ruah’s character Kensi Blye missing from the latest episode of season 14.

On Sunday evening, CBS viewers watched Let It Burn, the final episode of NCIS Los Angeles season 14 before the winter break. While the on-screen action captivated viewers as characters such as Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Hanna (LL Cool J) investigated an arson att4ck, others were disappointed that Kensi (Daniela Ruah) was not involved.

This was the second episode in a row where Ruah was not present to bring Kensi to life.

In fact, the only nod to Kensi fans came in the form of a brief phone call Deeks made to his other half during the episode.

While fans have expressed their disappointment with Kensi’s absence, Ruah has addressed it in a new Instagram post.

Ruah joked about her time away from the camera by sharing a photo of her children.

“Whilst Kensi and her real life kiddos are picking their first batch of avocados since daddy planted the tree 5 years ago.. the rest of the @ncisla crew will be kickin butt and catching bad guys, tonight on an all new ep!” she captioned the photos.

One thing is certain: Kensi will be back when NCIS LA returns in January for its historic crossover event with NCIS and NCIS Hawaii.

However, this has provided little solace to fans who expressed their disappointment on social media during Sunday’s episode.

During the episode, Twitter user @selevy vented: “2 weeks without kensi I miss her sm #ncisla.”

While Susan Palmiotto commented, “Why aren’t the four team members working together?” Kensi’s previous two episodes were not working. What exactly is going on? #NCISLA.”

Leo Schwartzer also mentioned Deeks and Kensi’s phone call, saying, “A three-second scene with Deeks saying ‘I Love You’ back to Kensi and ‘bye, baby’ before hanging up was the best scene from last night’s episode.”

“It shows how much chemistry they have, but also that there is no show without Densi #NCISLA.”

“I was right,” Lara Leitao added. There is no Kensi in this episode. We’ll only see Kensi again next year (2023), so I’m hoping the rest of the season goes better for Densi fans.

“It’s been a really sad/boring season without Densi#ncisla #densi,” they went on to say.

Meanwhile, @kwanfan1212 was enraged: “No Kensi again tonight?!” ANNOYING. What if we don’t make this a habit? #NCISLA.”

“Sooo are Deeks and Kensi going to have any episodes together ever again?” wondered @arielstanki.

“#Densi is the main reason I watch the show,” they continued. @NCISLA #ncisla (Sic)

Fans will have to wait until January 2 for Kensi and the NCIS LA team to return, as the show is currently on a midseason break.

Ruah confirmed her involvement in the three-way crossover earlier this year with a set selfie.

Wilmer Valderrama, Vanessa Lachey, and Yasmine Al-Bustami from NCIS and NCIS Hawaii appeared alongside her NCIS LA co-stars Chris O’Donnell, Olsen, LL Cool J, Medalion Rahimi, and Gerald McRaney.
