NCIS Los Angeles Fans Are Dissatisfied With the Absence of Cast Members: ‘It’s Getting Frustrating’

Fans of NCIS Los Angeles have grown frustrated with the show’s current season, as last Sunday’s episode continued the trend of major characters going missing in action.

In the latest episode of NCIS: Los Angeles’ 14th season, Agent Sam Hanna (played by LL Cool J) dealt with an intensely personal case. However, as the hit CBS drama continues to deliver each week, many viewers were more concerned about the whereabouts of fan favorites Kensi Blye (Danielah Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).

Several fans took to social media to express their disappointment after Kensi and Deeks did not appear in last week’s episode of NCIS: LA.

Agent Hanna was called in to deal with a personal matter in the fourth episode of season 14 when his son Aiden (Tye White) aborts a crashing plane and is blamed for the incident.

Meanwhile, Devin Roundtree (Caleb Castille) struggled with how to handle a clear case of racial profiling by the LAPD against him and his sister from the previous season.

While the most recent episode addressed some important issues and welcomed Hanna’s son back into the fold, many viewers were disappointed by the cast’s reduction.

@JayAre70 commented on the official NCIS: LA Twitter page, “This season is getting really frustrating.”

“Half the cast appears to be missing every week.” And even when they are present, the regular teams are not cooperating. “What exactly is going on?”

“As wonderful as this episode is… the best part is missing.” @Jaz07P added, referring to Deeks and Kensi’s relationship nickname.

“Why is there always one main cast member missing from every episode of NCISLA?” Marni Ockene wondered.

“Good episode of NCIS: LA tonight,” wrote @kwanfan1212 (I liked the story with the three Hanna men).

“However, I really missed having Deeks and Kensi here tonight.” I hope they get a lot of attention next week to make up for this week!”

“I’m sorry, but the magic of densi is unrivaled, and while this is a great ensemble cast, no other dynamic on this show comes even close,” Leo Schwartzer said.

“They make the best partners, not only professionally but also personally.”

“Don’t know why they didn’t have Rountree go talk to Deeks about dealing with the LAPD,” @det Axel Foley wondered.

Deeks’ prior experience as an LAPD liaison officer for the NCIS before becoming a field agent could have been invaluable in Roundtree’s time of need.

Unfortunately, Eric, Daniel, LL Cool J, and Chris O’Donnell will be taking sporadic breaks throughout the current season, so they won’t be available for every NCIS mission or personal problem.

This does not imply that the series will be cancelled, but fans will have to endure episodes without their favorite characters more frequently than they are accustomed to.

The series’ new direction has clearly elicited mixed reactions, especially given that the last two seasons have mostly been spent without iconic team leader Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt).

Thankfully, next week’s installment, Flesh and Blood, should put the series back on track.

The upcoming episode will center on Deeks and Kensi, as Deek’s mother, Roberta (Pamela Reed), arrives in town to meet the couple’s adopted daughter, Rosa (Natalia Del Riego).
