The NCIS: LA finale gave fans long-awaited moments, including G. Callen and Anna Kolcheck’s wedding, a happy milestone for two characters with rocky pasts. Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks also got their joyful ending with a pregnancy announcement. Sam Hanna appeared content, later joining NCIS: Hawai’i in Season 3. Even Nell Jones returned briefly to recruit Callen and Hanna for a mission in Morocco.
Unresolved Season 15 Plotlines
Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill shared that if given more time, he would have tied up several loose ends. One major omission was the storyline involving David Kessler-a serial k1ller obsessed with Kensi. His threat was never resolved, and he remains at large in the NCIS universe. Another unfinished arc was the disturbing Body Stitchers case, a concept co-created by Frank Military, who played Kessler.
Missing Faces in the Finale
Despite being mentioned, Eric Beale and Hetty Lange didn’t appear. Gemmill said he had hoped to bring both back, but scheduling didn’t work out. Barrett Foa, who played Eric, previously shared he loved the role and would have liked to return. Gemmill admitted he’d have brought back everyone if it were feasible.

Storylines That Never Got Explored
Had there been a Season 15, Gemmill wanted to delve into Hetty’s overseas missions, Kilbride’s strained relationship with his son, and even a possible romance between Deeks’ mother and Arkady. He hinted at “a dozen more” storylines that could’ve been explored.
What’s Next for the Characters?
While NCIS: LA has officially ended, there’s still hope for crossover appearances in other NCIS series. Season 15 won’t happen, but some ideas might live on through other teams-perhaps even in an NCIS: International spinoff.
