NCIS LA season 12: Anna’s return confirmed as she faces off with Callen after arrest

NCIS LA season 12 will finally address the mystery surrounding Anna and Callen’s whirlwind romance in the upcoming episodes, it’s been confirmed.

Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell) and Anna’s (Bar Paly) romance has been anything but smooth sailing in NCIS: Los Angeles season 12, despite it looking like wedding bells could be on the horizon. However, after CBS viewers witnessed a spanner thrown in the works earlier in the series, it looks like they’ll finally get the answers they’re searching for in episode 12, titled Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.

Looking back at Callen and Anna’s love story so far in season 12, things started off rather swimmingly.

Anna was back in Callen’s life and the NCIS agent had even begun planning out ways in which he could make Anna his wife.

This included a rather tense chat with her father and his close pal Arkady (Vyto Ruginis) as Callen sought his blessing to get down on one knee.

However, his plans were thrown out the window when it turned out Anna had gone AWOL, lying to her other half about where she was.

In episode nine, A Fait Accompli, Anna had told Callen she was out of town and lending a helping hand to a town ravaged by wildfires.

Keen to surprise her, Callen headed to the motel he thought Anna was staying, only to be told that not only she wasn’t there, but that no humanitarian efforts were in place.

Theories have ranged from Anna getting cold feet to her working on a secret mission with Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt), although no definitive answers have come to light so far.

But that looks like it’s about to change as the episode 12 synopsis from CBS confirms Callen and Anna will come face to face again.

The synopsis reads: “As Nell (Renee Felice Smith) keeps Callen in the dark about the team’s search for Katya (Jana Kolesarova),

“Callen tracks down the person tailing him in a remote location teeming with Russians… and face to face with Anna.”

This looks like the aftermath of episode 11 – which teases an arrest for Callen in Russia as well as him being investigated as a double agent – will carry on for another instalment.

And with Anna suddenly returning to the spotlight, could she have played a part in having him followed or detained?

Or could Anna actually turn out to be the key to clearing Callen’s name as double agent suspicions continue to circulate?

Fans will have to wait until episode 12 airs at the end of the month to find out for sure.

But in the meantime, many are sharing their own theories as to where Anna may have been following her mystery absence.

Taking to Twitter, one fan put forward the theory: “Having just watched Season 12 Episode 7 of @NCISLA here in the UK. I’m wondering if #AnnaKolcheck is dating someone else.

“Hence why she is lying to #GCallen about what she’s been up and why #ArkadyKolcheck says to Callen ‘its not like you or Anna are marriage material’ #NCISLA.”

A second tipped Arkady to know more than he’s letting on: “I wonder if Arkady knows where’s Anna is, if he does then why he didn’t let Callen knows?

“I would think he would after he asked him for his blessing for her hands in marriage?
