In a rare interview, actor Mark Harmon opened up about the first time he met the legendary Robin Williams. Harmon, married to Pam Dawber of Mork & Mindy fame since 1987, shared the unexpected moment with warmth and humor.
Harmon revealed that early in their relationship, Robin Williams once arrived at his house before Dawber did. Not knowing who was outside, Harmon saw someone standing on a car yelling, “Anybody home?” – it was Williams, in full comedic form.
The gate was still under construction, and Williams had hopped onto the car roof just to be seen. Harmon opened the gate, and Robin immediately burst in, firing off questions at machine-gun speed, full of energy and curiosity.
Though their interaction was brief, Harmon remembers feeling overwhelmed yet entertained. “Don’t ever leave me alone with him again,” he joked to Dawber afterward. It’s the only story he shares, respecting that most Robin stories, he says, “belong to her.”
