Frank Reagan and Abigail Baker of Blue Bloods Square Off in A Heated Duel

Commissioner Frank Reagan is battling to keep control of his team in the famous CBS drama.

Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is at odds with Mayor Peter Chase (Dylan Walsh) once more as his police men come under pressure from New York’s new political administration.

In this week’s episode, Family Matters, the Commissioner is confronted by investigator Abigail Baker (Abigail Hawk) as Mayor Chase’s new proposal threatens his police.

According to the episode summary, Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigate a grand theft case linked to feuding cr1me groups.

When an influx of immigrants arrives in the city, Frank argues with Mayor Chase.

Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) wonders if her district attorney campaign is jeopardizing her day job.

Fellow detectives Sidney Gormley (Robert Clohessy) and Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara) are stunned into silence in a new episode clip when Abigail gives her boss a sharp talking-to.

“I can’t take more officers off the street and post them up in these encampments for the Mayor’s political gain,” Frank goes on to say.

“This is about more than just the Mayor’s ambition,” Abigail counters. “This is New York City, which has always been a beacon of hope and refuge.”

Frank admits Abigail’s points, but she obviously believes the Commissioner needs to be reminded of reality if he wants Chase to work with the NYPD.

“You’ve got to say it louder,” she says. “Garrett is correct. This thing is processed like no other.

You can’t just get lost in the weeds with your overworked police force.

Abigail’s argument stuns Sidney and Garrett, and Frank appears to be stunned into surrender as well.

Mayor Chase, on the other hand, has repeatedly clashed with the Reagans in the past, and Frank may not be willing to give up this position without a struggle.

After being elected Mayor in season 10, he backed Frank’s daughter Erin for District Attorney, but only if the Commissioner replaced Garrett with a more hardline DCPI.

As Frank’s officers prepare to face an influx of immigrants, Abigail is adamant that the NYPD contributes to the city’s ‘hopeful’ reputation.

Nonetheless, her previous attempts to defy Frank’s techniques have not gone well.

Although she is still one of his most trusted investigators, Abigail’s position could be jeopardized if she begins to weigh in on her boss’s feud with the Mayor.
