Boston Blue premieres this fall, and CBS just dropped the first teaser trailer. Fans got their first look at Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan teaming up with Sonequa Martin-Green’s Detective Lena Silver as the pair take on a string of Boston cases. The teaser was unveiled September 4 during CBS’ fall press event.

Earlier, on August 25, TV Insider revealed photos of Bridget Moynahan’s return as Erin Reagan alongside Wahlberg in the series premiere – sparking buzz over the new show’s fresh tone compared to Blue Bloods.

When Does Boston Blue Premiere?

Friday, October 17 at 10/9c on CBS, in Blue Bloods’ former slot. Episodes stream next day on Paramount+.

What’s It About?

In the pilot, Danny joins the Boston PD and partners with Detective Lena Silver to investigate a deadly fire at a tech company. The case exposes hidden family ties, facial recognition tech, and a quest for justice that bonds the Reagan and Silver families.

The Silver family includes:

• Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) – Boston DA and matriarch
• Lena Silver (Martin-Green) – Boston PD Detective
• Sarah Silver (Maggie Lawson) – Police Superintendent
• Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner) – rookie cop

Danny also reconnects with his younger son, Sean (Mika Amonsen), who’s starting his own Boston career.
