Daniela Ruah’s Next Project Has Been Revealed, After ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Was Canceled

Following the cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles, Daniela Ruah’s character Kensi Blye will say her final goodbyes in the coming months.

The season 14 finale will air on May 14 and will be the final episode of the drama as well as Daniela’s final appearance as Kensi. But what is the actress going to do next? Here’s everything we know…

Following the conclusion of NCIS: Los Angeles, it won’t be long before Daniela returns to television.

The 39-year-old is set to star in Rabo de Peixe, a new Netflix thriller that will be the streaming service’s second original Portuguese series.

Daniela will play Fátima in the drama, which follows four friends whose lives are forever changed when a ton of cocaine arrives.

The series is currently in post-production, according to IMDb.

The final episode will be broadcast in May.

Daniela began acting in Portuguese soap operas as a teen, so Rabo de Peixe isn’t her first Portuguese project.

While NCIS fans are saddened by the end of the Los Angeles spin-off, Daniela says she is “not sad” and is grateful to have been a part of the drama.

In the drama, Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen play love interests.

“I’m not sad that it’s coming to an end. “I think the show has had an incredible, long run, we’ve told phenomenal stories, and the characters have grown and matured in front of everyone on the show,” she told ET. “It’s a bittersweet feeling.

“Like, it’s time to move on creatively, but it’s going to be so difficult not to be with this incredible family of people.”

She went on to say that the show’s devoted fan base “means the world” to her.

While the reason for the cancellation has not been revealed, reports suggest that it may have something to do with budget constraints.

“A cancellation of a long-running drama with big-name leads filming in L.A. should not come as a surprise given the large price tag involved, especially at a time when networks across the board are looking to cut their spending,” Deadline stated.
