Brian Dietzen, Who Plays Jimmy Palmer on NCIS, Shares A Career Update With His ‘Excited’ Fans

Brian Dietzen, who plays Chief Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer on NCIS, was overjoyed to share the news with his Instagram followers.

For the past two decades, NCIS has kept fans guessing with special guest stars, intriguing investigations, and plenty of drama. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) has been a member of the team since season one, episode 21, Split Decision. With the passage of time, actor Dietzen’s career on the CBS police procedural has also progressed behind the camera.

Brian Dietzen, star of NCIS, took to Instagram this weekend to reveal that he co-wrote an upcoming episode of the international drama.

He reposted a post from NCIS’ Instagram account to his own, with the caption: “New episode Monday (co-written by me!)”

The original post featured a photo of Jimmy Palmer standing next to executive producer Scott Williams, who was his writing partner on NCIS season 20’s Old Wounds.

The 14th episode of the current series will air on CBS on Monday, February 13th.

The NCIS account posted the following update: “This Monday, you’re in for a real treat because an all-NEW #NCIS co-written by Brian Dietzen and Scott Williams is on the way. Are you prepared for this?”

Of course, fans were overjoyed to see Brietzen back behind the camera.

“I am honestly so excited!!” wrote @donnamoskal, a follower. “Got my gear ready, can’t wait for the action,” said @drawings.ncisandmore.

A third supporter has been added: “How did I not realize this before? It’s so exciting!”

Many fans also expressed their support for Dietzen, who has been a part of the drama since its inception.

“Brian has written a few other books that are excellent. Not too shabby for our autopsy gremlin! “, a follower commented.

Another person added: “Brian is one of only three original cast members still alive. Grindlyn went from autopsy to writer.”

This will be Dietzen’s second co-written episode, following her work on season 19’s The Helper last year.

For the first time since she was a baby, Jimmy’s daughter Victoria Palmer (Elle Graper) was introduced to fans in The Helper.

When he and Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover) were exposed to a lethal biotoxin, he brought her to work for the day.

It was up to the team to find the antidote before it was too late, and some emotional scenes between Jimmy and Victoria moved viewers.

Instead, the second of Dietzen’s co-written episodes will center on Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole).

“Parker grapples with his emotions when a conman from his past turns up as a prime suspect in the murder of a navy officer transporting millions of dollars’ worth of opioids,” according to the synopsis for Old Wounds.

Dietzen celebrated the show’s record-breaking viewer ratings for the franchise’s three-hour special with NCIS Los Angeles and NCIS Hawaii earlier this year.

He took to Twitter and wrote: “Thank you to everyone who tuned in last night to watch the #NCISCrossover! It was a lot of fun to shoot, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!”
