Blue Bloods: Will Estes Initially Hated Jamie and Eddie’s Relationship Concept

Longtime fans of “Blue Bloods” appear to be as involved in the action as ever as the show enters its 13th season of primetime procedural drama.

So are the show’s creators, who come up with inventive ways to punish Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and his extended cr1me-fighting family.

That’s especially true for the Reagans’ “golden boy,” Jamie (Will Estes), who was shot on the job early in the season and completely disabled.

Eddie Janko-Reagan (Vanessa Ray), Jamie’s on- and off-the-job partner, was affected by the incident. That combination has been going strong for a time now, much to the joy of “Blue Bloods” fans (per PopCulture), and they even married three seasons ago.

Jamie’s near-d3ath experience has undoubtedly resulted in significant changes for Jamie and Eddie, both at home and at work.

However, there’s little reason to think the couple won’t work through their differences and emerge closer than ever.

Will Estes was not a fan of Eddie and Jamie’s pairing on “Blood Bloods,” despite the fact that they have become one of the show’s strongest pairings.

In fact, the actor believes he was initially opposed to Eddie and Jamie becoming together.

Estes predicted that once Jamie and Eddie were together, the drama would lose its suspense.

During a 2021 interview with Glitter Magazine, Will Estes made the surprise discovery. In response to a query about what he enjoys most about the relationship, he stated, “I never wanted them to get together. “I despised the idea.”

Estes then provided some reasonable rationale for why he was so opposed to the connection.”I thought it would be the end of the storyline,” he told me.

“We’d be missing the lesson from series like ‘The X-Files,’ where two characters who wanted to be together but didn’t want to cross the line created tension and drama.”

Estes, on the other hand, appears to have done a complete 180 on the matter. Estes’ rapid transformation is undoubtedly due to his working connection with Vanessa Ray, regarding which he stated, “Working with Vanessa is one of my favorite things about ‘Blue Bloods.'”

It’s a good thing the actors get along so well, because Estes admits he’s probably worked with Ray more than any other actor he’s ever worked with, including his whole “Blue Bloods” family.

Given how much Estes and Ray like working together and how important their tale has become on “Blue Bloods,” fans will undoubtedly see a lot of the power couple throughout the rest of the show’s run.
