Detective Danny Reagan is officially on the streets of Boston. In a new set video shared by @onlyinbos, Donnie Wahlberg is spotted filming the highly anticipated Blue Bloods spinoff, Boston Blue.
Dressed in full detective mode, Danny joins his new partner, Lena Silver (played by The Walking Dead alum Sonequa Martin-Green), as the two chase down a suspect through a bustling city park.
The spinoff comes on the heels of Blue Bloods’ 14-season run, and fans are eager to see Danny in unfamiliar territory. While the Reagan family dinner table may be behind him, Boston Blue introduces a new circle of characters tied to Lena: Ernie Hudson as her grandfather and local minister, Gloria Reuben as her mother (and the city’s district attorney), Marcus Scribner as her younger brother, and Maggie Lawson as her stepsister.
But Danny won’t be completely without family ties. Bridget Moynahan is set to reprise her role as Erin Reagan in a guest appearance, and the series will also explore Danny’s relationship with his youngest son, Sean – now portrayed by Mika Amonsen.
With Wahlberg leading the charge and a dynamic new ensemble, Boston Blue is shaping up to deliver the grit, heart, and family drama fans have come to love – this time with a fresh Boston twist.
