‘Blue Bloods’ Lives On: Donnie Wahlberg Thrills Fans with Game-Changing Spin-Off News

Big news for Blue Bloods fans-Bridget Moynahan is reuniting with Donnie Wahlberg for the upcoming spin-off Boston Blue, premiering October 17 on CBS.

Moynahan will reprise her role as Erin Reagan, appearing in the premiere episode alongside Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan. “Reunited and it feels so good!” Donnie shared on Instagram, posting a photo with Bridget from the set.

In addition to her guest appearance, Moynahan will also direct episodes of the new series. “She’ll also be bringing her incredible directing talents to the show this season,” Wahlberg added.

Bridget responded, “So excited to be part of this old and new family!!!”

Erin, a prosecutor in Blue Bloods, was the only Reagan not in law enforcement. She joins her nephew Sean, who has been recast with Mika Amonsen and is now pursuing a police career.

Boston Blue follows Danny Reagan as he joins the Boston PD and partners with Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter in a prominent Boston law enforcement family.

The cast also includes Ernie Hudson as Reverend Peters, Gloria Reuben as DA Mae Silver, Maggie Lawson as Superintendent Sarah Silver, and Marcus Scribner as rookie Jonah Silver.

Though the reason behind Danny’s move from NYC to Boston hasn’t been revealed, fans can expect more Reagan family appearances and surprises as the new chapter begins.
