Even after its finale, Blue Bloods is proving it’s far from forgotten. Fans are sending Tom Selleck’s long-running police drama soaring up the streaming charts as they await the arrival of its highly anticipated spinoff starring Donnie Wahlberg.
As of July 7, Blue Bloods climbed to #9 on the Paramount+ Top 10 in the U.S., according to FlixPatrol. Globally, the show is performing even better, charting in 25 countries with an average ranking of 5.2.
The series, which aired on CBS from 2010 to 2024, followed the Reagan family of New York City law enforcement. It starred Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan, alongside Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou. Over its 14 seasons and 293 episodes, Blue Bloods maintained a loyal fanbase.
After the show wrapped on December 13, 2024, CBS quickly confirmed the franchise wasn’t over. In February, the network announced Boston Blue, a new spinoff set to debut this fall. Wahlberg will reprise his role as Danny Reagan, now working in the Boston Police Department, and he’ll also serve as executive producer. The new series will feature a fresh cast that includes Sonequa Martin-Green, Ernie Hudson, Maggie Lawson, Gloria Reuben, and Marcus Scribner.
Donnie Wahlberg Teases Possible Reagan Reunion in Boston Blue
Even after Blue Bloods wrapped, its streaming success shows fans still crave the Reagan family. Donnie Wahlberg recently hinted that Boston Blue-his upcoming spinoff-might feature a family reunion.
“New York and Boston are really close,” Wahlberg said when asked about Tom Selleck’s potential return. He added that appearances could come via FaceTime or surprise visits.
“As family-oriented as Danny is, he’s always marched to the beat of his own drum,” Wahlberg explained, hinting at why Danny would take on a new chapter alone.
