Alexis Ortega, the voice actor who brought Spider-Man to life for Latin American audiences in films starring Tom Holland, has died at 38. News of his passing was shared by regional dubbing outlets; a cause of death has not been disclosed.
Born in Mexico in 1987, Ortega began his voice career in 2013 and quickly became known as Holland’s Spanish-language counterpart in the Marvel blockbusters Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War. His work helped a generation of fans across Latin America connect with Peter Parker’s humor, heart, and heroism.
Beyond Marvel, Ortega lent his voice to major animated and live-action releases including Big Hero 6, Finding Dory, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Cars 3.
