The latest NCIS episode, “Stolen Moments,” explored the use of artificial intelligence within the agency while also diving into Jimmy Palmer’s personal life.
Tasked with testing an AI program called D.A.W.N., Jimmy reflected on his own future and his lingering feelings for Jessica Knight. However, in the episode’s final moments, he hesitated to approach her after seeing Nick Torres place a hand on her back, leaving fans wondering if there could be something developing between Knight and Torres.
Actor Brian Dietzen explained that the scene was intentionally left open to interpretation. Some viewers may see it as a sign that Knight and Torres are growing closer, while others might believe Jimmy simply misread the moment or realized that Knight has moved on with her life.
Jimmy and Knight previously dated but ended their relationship after realizing they wanted different things. Although feelings may still remain, timing has continued to stand in their way.
Dietzen noted that the episode marked personal growth for Jimmy, as he began to recognize he wants more out of life beyond his work. Even without a romantic resolution, the moment highlighted both hope and disappointment in his journey.
With the show heading into a break following the midseason finale, fans will have to wait to see whether a Knight and Torres romance develops or if Jimmy finds the courage to revisit his relationship with Knight.
