After 26 Years, Chuck Norris Finally Meets His Secret Daughter: “I Didn’t Need DNA”

At 83, Chuck Norris has stepped away from the spotlight and spends much of his time enjoying retirement with his family. But years earlier, the legendary actor experienced a surprising and emotional chapter in his life when he discovered he had a daughter he never knew about.

Norris married his first wife, Dianne Holechek, in December 1958, shortly after graduating from North Torrance High School. The two were high school sweethearts, and their relationship quickly grew serious. They went on to share 30 years of marriage and welcomed two sons, Mike and Eric.

Although the couple divorced in 1988, Norris has always spoken respectfully about Holechek, praising her for supporting him during difficult times early in his career. He once said she never complained, even when money was tight and they were struggling to get by.

In his 2004 autobiography, Norris revealed a secret that had long remained hidden. During his marriage in 1962, he had a brief affair with a woman named Johanna while he was stationed in California with the U.S. Air Force. From that relationship, a daughter named Dina Morris was born.

For more than two decades, Norris had no idea Dina existed. It wasn’t until 1991-26 years after her birth-that she reached out to him, believing he was her biological father.

Despite the shocking news, Norris agreed to meet her. The reunion turned out to be deeply emotional. He later recalled that he didn’t feel the need for a DNA test. When he hugged Dina, both of them burst into tears, and he said it felt as if he had known her his entire life.

Since then, Norris and his daughter have built a strong relationship.

Today, Norris is married to Gena O’Kelley, whom he wed in 1998. The couple has twins, Danilee and Dakota, and Norris often credits his wife with bringing balance and stability to his life.

Now enjoying a quieter life with his family, Norris continues to reflect on the experiences that shaped him-both the triumphs and the mistakes-and the unexpected moments that ultimately brought his family closer together.
